휙 (hwik)

Whoosh / Swish (fast)

What it means

A quick, sharp movement through the air. Heads turning fast, objects thrown, someone dashing past.

Where you'll see it in manhwa

• A character turns around suddenly
• Something is thrown
• A sword swings

How to say it

Romanized as hwik. It's a motion effect (not sounds at all — these show how something moves) and its rarity is common.

Similar sound effects

• 스윽 seueuk — *swish* — a smooth, quiet move
• 벌떡 beoltteok — *springs up*
