About SFXDex

Korean webtoons and manhwa are read all over the world, but the sound effects drawn into the art — 쾅, 두근두근, 뚜둥 — usually stay in Korean. Readers end up guessing, or asking on forums one word at a time.

SFXDex collects those effects in one place. Every card gives you the romanization, an English feel, what it actually means, the kinds of scenes it appears in, and a sound you can play.

Who makes it

SFXDex is an independent project by a Korean native speaker and developer. Every card is written and checked by hand. The card art is generated from code — no images are taken from any webtoon.
